Despite sharing their name with a northeastern state, the Maine formed in 2007 in Tempe, AZ, a collegiate suburb of Phoenix. Most of the bandmembers -- singer John O'Callaghan, guitarists Kennedy Brock and Jared Monaco, bassist Garrett Nickelsen, and drummer Pat Kirch -- were in high school at the time, and the guys wasted little time turning their '90s radio rock band influences into a familiar, infectious pop-punk sound. The Maine signed to Fearless Records and released a five-song concept EP, The Way We Talk, in 2007. After performing on the Vans Warped Tour one year later, the group issued a full-length debut album, Can't Stop Won't Stop, which was produced by emo-pop veteran Matt Squire. The record peaked at number 40 on the Billboard charts and caught the ear of Warner Bros. Records, who signed the Maine to a major-label contract in 2009. After releasing a deluxe version of Can't Stop Won't Stop later that year, the group returned to the studio, eventually emerging in 2010 with the sophomore album Black & White.
Lydia

Whether expressing the vicissitudes of a romance run off course or finding one's soul deep inside his or her thoughts, Lydia crafts its sound with cadence approach that creates the equal allegiance to thunder and quiet found in Antleman's words, and further solidifies its place as the voice of today's indie rock generation. Lydia started out in 2003 as a five piece band: Leighton Antelman (Lead Vocals and Guitar), Steve McGraw (Guitar), Maria Sais De Sicilia (Backup vocals and Keyboard), Dustin Forsgren (Bass), and Loren Brinton (Drums). But now, Even Aranbul has replaced Forsgren, Mindy White with Dais De Sicilia, and Craig Taylor with Brinton and added second guitarist, Ethan Koozer. Debut album, "This December; It's One More and I'm Free" was recorded by the former members of the band and was released on September 27th, 2005 with the HourZero Records. The band (then Leighton, Steve, Ethan, Evan and Mindy White) released their sophomore album "Illuminate" to extremely positive reviews and gained a great following.
The band released their (at the time) final album, Assailants on July 20, 2010. They followed it up with the Goodbye & Farewell Tour in both the United States and Australia.
After a year long hiatus, Leighton and Craig have decided to write, record, and release a brand new album under the Lydia name in the summer of 2011.

Arkells

Formed in Hamilton, Ontario, Arkells (Max Kerman, Mike DeAngelis, Dan Griffin, Nick Dika, Tim Oxford) have become one of Canada's most acclaimed rock outfits. They have shared the stage with everyone from Pearl Jam to Girl Talk, and toured Canada and the US with Metric and Tokyo Police Club.
In 2008, the band released their super-charged debut CD, Jackson Square and toured relentlessly coast-to-coast impressing fans and critics alike with their adrenalin-infused live show.
In 2010, Arkells were propelled further into the national spotlight, garnering The Juno Award for 'New Group of The Year'; The Canadian Music Week Indie Award for 'Favourite Live Artist/Group'; and Canadian Radio Music Award for 'FACTOR Breakthrough Artist'.
Having spent the last few years writing new material while on the road, this past spring Arkells retreated to Bath, Ontario to record Michigan Left, living and recording in a converted house on the shores of Lake Ontario. The first single from Michigan Left, "Whistleblower" is currently in the Top 10 in the active and alternative rock radio charts and presently in heavy rotation at both MuchMusic and MuchMoreMusic.
